What is CrossFit?
A constantly varied combination of movements performed at high intensity. CrossFit is the best fitness program out there for building strength while burning fat. CrossFit is unlike anything you’ve ever tried before and has proven to deliver undisputable tangible results.
CrossFit is the fitness methodology used by police academies and tactical operations teams, military special operation units, champion martial artists, and hundreds of other elite and professional athletes worldwide. It is currently being implemented in nursing homes, pre-schools and physical therapy clinics. In short, people from all walks of life are practicing CrossFit due to the fact it is infinitely scalable for any fitness level. Children, housewives, Olympic athletes, and grandparents can follow the same program, but at their own level of intensity. The needs of our members differ by degree, not kind.
At Red Island CrossFit, we train in a group setting where you will receive professional coaching while participating in a warm-up, a strength session and the workout of the day (WOD). We utilize movements from gymnastics, Olympic weightlifting, strongman, rowing and running to create unique, intense workouts that are constantly varied so you are never “bored”. Some workouts are completed for time while others for maximum number of rounds or repetitions. *Why is your CrossFit gym different from regular gyms and cost more?
A CrossFit gym is a community that offers support not only in the box (Inside our gym walls), but from day to day with the members and staff. Our group classes provide motivation every time you step inside to take on the challenge. We provide performance and fitness coaching that will bring results in a fun environment.
The reason CrossFit gyms cost more than a regular gym is because you’ll be getting a coach every time you come to class. The coaches will ensure your movements are performed correctly to minimize injury as well as pushing you to limits that you’ve never achieved before.
*Can anyone do CrossFit?
Yes! Everything we do is scalable. All movements are done in a “crawl, walk, run” theory. We have injured warriors to MS patients that participate in CrossFit. There is no one that is to out of shape or too old to start CrossFit.
*Do you have Open Gym?
Yes, once you pass intro classes and if you purchase an unlimited membership, we have open gym times you can attend. If you just want to come in early or stay late and work on skills, you can do so before or after a class.
